Our other approaches to professional development

Practical courses

We also offer workshop-based courses which allow teachers to develop professional skills in key areas.  These workshops are supported by classroom visits and feedback sessions which enable teachers to immediately implement and reflect on new strategies. Practical courses

Sharing professional practice

These workshops will give teachers the skills and show them the systems involved in starting peer sharing groups in school. Teachers will learn to plan and conduct peer support sessions so that there is effective sharing of, and reflection on, good practice – and so that a culture of peer support is established.

Formative assessment in practice

The aim of the course is to help teachers effectively plan for teaching and learning by using various formative assessment strategies.

Differentiation in practice

The aim of the course is to help teachers identify student needs and to differentiate approaches to teaching and learning so that students have the fullest possible access to curriculum.

Classroom management in practice

Teachers will learn how to strategically select and implement procedures that help create an optimal learning environment, as well as support meaningful collaboration between students in the classroom.
